Guerrilla Goodness

November 25th, 2009

Last night I was introduced to Guerrilla Goodness.  Have you heard of this? It’s something that Mrs. Patience Salgado, aka @kindnessgirl believes in and practices on a regular basis.

I was lucky enough to meet Mrs. Salgado and her husband Jorge at TweetsGiving last night.  Mrs. Salgado believes that random acts of kindness can change the world. I think that’s pretty cool because I believe that small things done by many can make a difference in the world.

There was a table stacked with colorful cards and small brown envelopes.  We were asked to write down why we were grateful.  After writing why I was grateful I put the card in the small brown envelope and now I have to find somewhere to leave my card so someone else can find it.  Mrs. Salgado hopes that whoever finds these little cards will also think about why they are grateful.

It’s a small thing that doesn’t take a lot of time or money.  But imagine what these random acts of thankfulness may do for those who find the cards!

Do you want to know why am I grateful? What makes me thankful? I am thankful for my family.  I am also thankful for all the soldiers who serve our country and fight and sometimes die for freedom and I am thankful for their families.  My mom says we should thank soldiers when we see them.  So the next time you see a man or woman in a military uniform please thank them for their service to our country. Like my mom says even if you don’t support the war support our soldiers.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving and share random thankfulness. It’s contagious.
